Sook Jung Yun is a chairman and professor of Department of Dermatology in Chonnam National University Medical School, Gwangju, Korea. She got her MD and PhD at Chonnam National University Medical School. She completed dermatology residency and fellowship at the Chonnam National University Hospital, and works at Chonnam National University Hospital. She received international board of dermatopathology. She studied dermatopathology at the dermatopathology division of department of dermatology at the University of Pennsylvania (UPENN), Philadelphia in 2008, and studied melanoma pathology as a visiting professor at the department of pathology at UPENN in 2013. She is a Member of the Korean Dermatological Association, Academic Director of Korean Society of Dermatopathology, previous Academic Director of Korean Society of Skin Cancer, Educational Committee Member of Asian Society of Dermatopathology, Member of American Society of Dermatopathology, Member of International Melanoma Pathology Study Group, Member of International Society of Dermatopathology and Member of the Society of Melanoma Research. In 2018, WHO published new edition of “WHO Classification of Skin Tumours” book, and Prof. Sook Jung Yun participated as one of contributors, writing the chapters of acral melanoma, acral naevus, Mongolian spot, Naevus of Ito and naevus of Ota. Currently, Prof. Sook Jung Yun’s researches focus on the clinicopathologic features, genetic alterations, and pathogenesis of acral melanomas and skin cancers in Korean.
