Dr Tan Suat Hoon is currently the Director of the National Skin Centre (NSC), Singapore and is a Senior Consultant Dermatologist and Dermatopathologist. She trained in dermatopathology in the 1993/94, under the mentorship of Phillip McKee at St Thomas’ Hospital in London, UK and is a diplomate of the Royal College of Pathologists (UK). She was chief of Dermatopathology at the NSC from 2001 to 2014. She is an Adjunct Professor with the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University Singapore/Imperial College London. She also holds academic appointments at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore and the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School Singapore. She is the Chairman of the national Residency Advisory Committee for Dermatology. Her areas of research and subspecialty interest are in cutaneous lymphomas and skin cancer. She has authored more than 130 indexed publications and 7 book chapters in clinical dermatology and dermatopathology. She continues to be active in teaching dermatology and dermatopathology to undergraduates, residents and postgraduate students.
